Are you seeing MonkaGIGA being spammed on Twitch everywhere and don’t know what it means? We’ve all been there… This article will tell you everything you need to know about the MonkaGIGA Twitch emote!
Twitch chat is FULL of emotes that you might not comprehend at first, which is why we’ve dedicated ourselves to explaining each and every one of these popular emotes.
What does MonkaGIGA mean on Twitch?
When something that’s happening on stream is very scary, for example during a horror game stream, the MonkaGIGA emote is used.
MonkaGIGA is an evolved version of the popular MonkaS emote. The eyes in the MonkaGIGA appear huge to signify that something really scary is happening.
Origin of MonkaGIGA on Twitch
The MonkaGIGA emote was uploaded to BTTV by user Slothh in 2017, just 1 year after the popular MonkaS was first uploaded.
In case you didn’t know, Better Twitch TV and FrankerFacez are emote libraries for Twitch. They can be downloaded as a browser extension and let users use more emotes than are originally included in Twitch.
MonkaS was uploaded to BetterTwitchTV/FrankerFacez in 2016 but wasn’t really picked up until 2017 when Forsen’s chat made it popular. After that, with the popularity of MonkaS continuing to increase, it didn’t take long before the Twitch community created variations of this emote such as the MonkaGIGA.

Origin of Pepe the frog Meme
Pepe The Frog is an anthropomorphic frog illustrated by artist Matt Furie that first appeared in a 2005 comic ‘Boy’s club’. Pepe became an internet meme after Matt Furie posted the cartoon on his Myspace blog, it quickly went viral and got reposted to 4chan in 2008. By 2015 it was one of the most popular internet memes and many variations of the frog started popping up online.
By 2010, Pepe the Frog had become a symbol within alt-right and white-supremacist movements. Since then, Matt Furie has sued many such extremist organizations for attempting to profit from his illustration.
Matt did welcome the use of Pepe the frog during the Hong Kong protests.
The use of Pepe the frog and monka emotes on Twitch is completely unrelated to alt-right movements.
