NaM Meaning

NaM is a global BetterTTV emote that features Korean streamer Namja. While originally uploaded to celebrate the streamer, the NaM emote is frequently spammed in toxic Twitch chats and most commonly used with bullying, racist, or generally toxic intent.

Sometimes it is also used to simply be annoying as the emote takes up a lot of space in chat and appears bigger than other emotes.

NaM can be interpreted as ‘Non Asian Minority’ and many believe this to be the reason the emote is called ‘NaM’ but in reality, it was named after the streamer Namja. It is often spammed when an Asian country (such as Vietnam) is mentioned or when Asians are mentioned or appear on stream.

Just like the TriHard emote, the NaM emote is spammed by a toxic crowd on the internet, likely to be under the age of 15 that have nothing better to do than spam in Twitch chats all day.

NaM, being a global BetterTTV emote means everyone who has BetterTTV installed can see the emote. Many Twitch channels have the NaM emote banned because it is so frequently spammed and never used in a wholesome manner.

Chats were you will find the NaM emote commonly spammed are Forsen, NymN, and xQc.
