What microphone does Sodapoppin use?

Sodapoppin uses the Shure SM7B microphone

Just like most streamers on Twitch and YouTube, Sodapoppin uses the Shure SM7B microphone.

Being the undisputed favorite amongst live streamers of all sizes, this microphone does not need to prove itself anymore. It’s got a timeless design, sturdy build, and above all, an audio quality that can make anyone sound like a radio host.

Due to its cardioid pickup pattern, anyone can sound good with the Shure SM7B without treating their room. The only downside to the microphone (aside from its steep price) is that you have to put it really close to your mouth which can be annoying to get used to.

Aside from Sodapoppin, other big streamers who use this microphone are Ludwig, Asmongold, Dream, and many, many more.

What microphone stand does Asmongold use?

Sodapoppin uses the Rode PSA1 microphone stand

Maybe even more popular than the Shure SM7B is the Rode PSA1 microphone stand. This is by far the most commonly used stand amongst Twitch streamers (including Sodapoppin) for good reason: it looks the part, the arm is VERY sturdy, it screams quality every time you tug at it, its by an extremely reputable company and finally it has very little competitors who can offer a similar product within this price range.

Sodapoppin needs a boom arm (PSA-1) to pair with the Shure SM7B, otherwise, he can’t put the Shure SM7B close enough to his face.

What mixer does Sodapoppin use?

Sodapoppin uses the Yamaha MG10XU audio interface

The Shure SM7B cannot be plugged into a computer like the average USB microphone. Being an XLR microphone, you need to have an Audio Interface to sit in between.

For this job, Sodapoppin uses the Yamaha MG10XU, a very complicated-looking mixer with a ton of buttons.

This thing is a bit old school (though we have seen it among other streamers such as Quarterjade before) and not really necessary for your average Streamer. We recommend that beginners who don’t have audio experience to get either the Scarlett 2i2 or GOXLR Mini.

At streamerfacts, we prefer the GOXLR Mini as a mixer to pair with an XLR microphone (such as the Shure SM7B).

The GOXLR Mini does everything a big mixer can do in a very compact package. Moreover, it is SUPER affordable (among the cheapest mixers you can find) and is designed with livestreaming in mind.

What mouse does Sodapoppin use?

Sodapoppin uses the Razer Naga Pro gaming mouse

⚠️ Sodapoppin (and the rest of OTK) are currently sponsored by Razer. For this reason, some of their peripherals are currently switched out for Razer equipment.

Sodapoppin had the choice to choose between any of the Razer mice and he chose the Razer Naga Pro wireless gaming mouse. It features a 20K DPI optical sensor, fast mechanical switches and up to 19 programmable buttons.

What’s interesting about this mouse is that it has an interchangeable side plate. Meaning you can have 2 side buttons (for shooters) and at any time swap it out for a number pad which works well for MMO’s.

What headset does Sodapoppin use?

Sodapoppin uses the Razer BlackShark VPro headset

It’s hard to tell as Chance uses the blacked version and his room is never properly lit but Sodapoppin uses the Razer BlackShark VPro headset as part of his current sponsorship with Razer.

This gaming headset is wireless, has 7.1 surround sound, a detachable microphone, and TriForce titanium sound drivers.

Pretty solid product in a nice package for a fair price.

What monitor does Sodapoppin use?

Sodapoppin uses the ASUS PG278Q ROG Swift 27″ gaming monitor

Chance uses a 27 inch gaming monitor by ASUS ROG. This gaming monitor can output an impressive 4K resolution at a 144Hz refreshrate. The monitor is unavailable in most stores as newer version have come to the market. If you are interested in this monitor, the ASUS ROG PG43UQ is a good alternative.

What chair does Sodapoppin use?

Sodapoppin uses the high-back executive office chair by Lifeform

Sodapoppin’s chair is where things get weird. If you’ve seen a recent stream of Sodapoppin, you’ll notice he’s sitting on a red chair.

It looks like a normal chair, right?

Wrong. This may look like a normal chair but it actually costs nearly $3,000.

What webcam does Sodapoppin use?

Sodapoppin uses the Sony Alpha A7 III camera as his webcam

Sodapoppin doesn’t use a webcam. Instead, he uses a fancy Sony Alpha A7 III camera to get his crispy clear facecam.

Oddly enough though, Sodapoppin doesn’t seem to have a lighting setup which is why his facecam tends to look dark and nothing about his camera setup does this expensive camera any justice.

But hey, that’s Sodapoppin for you.

We already know he can afford it so why get a simple webcam. 😉

To use a fancy DSLR camera as your webcam such as Sodapoppind does, you need the additional purchase of an Elgato Cam Link.
